Ancient Khuzistan

1. Map of Ancient Khuzistan, the western (moist) flanks of the Zagros mountain chain. The region fell under the hegemony of Sumer, and that brought considerable cultural influence, but there were also influences from the sources of prestige trade goods on the Iranian Plateau to the East.
